In 2009, we will continue our work on several major initiatives including:

·      Finalization and implementation of land use plans incorporating ecosystem-based management   principles (EBM) and shared decision-making arrangements with the Province;

·      Development of a marine use planning process with Canada and BC;

·      Resource agreements that provide First Nations with revenue sharing and tenure access;

·      Development and implementation of business plans for shellfish, forestry, and tourism;

·      Development of a capacity building strategy to support economic institutions, good public governance and coordinated training approaches;

·      Monitoring environmental projects - e.g. oil and gas development, energy and port infrastructure projects; and

·      Development of a revenue-sharing strategy for negotiating with the Province.
